Today I had a conversation with someone new.  We shared a few things with each other about life and our expectations.
He shared with me his experience with his youngest son who is now 22 years old.  He told me about how he has introduced his some to the world of robotics and engineering as a child.  He was very proud to say that his son has chosen goals bolder than he had ever imagined.
When it was my turn to explain to him some of my …

I am blessed to have my  children attend a school where parents are very involved in helping out.  One committee that I volunteered for is a program called ‘Everybody Counts”.
Everybody Counts is designed to help school children to be more aware of some of the challenges that some of their classmates might have.
During the week, we took children through hands-on demonstrations of what it would be like to have several developmental problems.  We focused on vision, hearing, and fine motor developmental delays.

I have spent quite a lot of time learning many different skill sets.  It has taken me a while to figure out my primary purpose.  My purpose includes a few things.  I know that I want to serve God in all that I do.  One of my goals includes helping and teaching others.  Those are fairly broad.  since becoming a wife and a mother, my goal has expanded to  taking care of my family.  All of those goals are included in what I believe is my primary  purpose…That purpose is …

These young people are in Europe. I am so grateful to them for sharing lives….I thought I would share what I found with you. I have only just begun to look at what they have put out there and I can tell you that I am very inspired.

I believe that these pointers are relevant for me as a parents of a little boy with Down Syndrome. I strive for a school and for teachers like those at Capital Prep. I also work hard to help the school and the teachers to help Isaac.

I am pulling together what I feel  is the best of the strategies for learners with visual strengths like Isaac.

I have always felt both happy and fearful when it was time to send my boys to school…even preschool.  I usually spend the first day at our local Target store after taking the kiddos to school.  Then I pick them up from school before going home.  For some reason, I don’t want to go home without them.
The transition from part-time school to full day school is also a big deal.  This past school year, my oldest son, Christian went to first grade.  This year he was in school for a …
